Training Forager is proving to be a lot of fun as well as rewarding yet hard work. hes showing a lot of enthusiasm for his new job and his tracks are getting longer and more complicated each week. He can be seen here following the scent of a
simulated lost deerhound up on the hill
Foragers first two weeks of training has shown steady progress and an enthusiasm that we could only dream of. Hes now tracking the target dog on lines up to 75 metres long, and including turns and poor scenting conditions. Our goal is to steadily increase both distance and complexity, as well as adding a time element to make the scent colder. In this early raining session you can just see the target dog by the telegraph pole, hiding in the long grass.
